LDV20 at SFSCON 2025: technology, community, and open source innovation

On November 7th and 8th, 2025, a new edition of SFSCON – South Tyrol Free Software Conference was held at NOI Techpark in Bolzano, one of Europe’s most relevant events dedicated to Free Software and digital innovation. The conference brought together developers, decision-makers, companies, public administrations, and digital innovators from across Europe and beyond to explore the role of Software Freedom as a strategic driver for digital sovereignty, innovation, and sustainable development.

LDV20 participated as a Silver Supporter, reaffirming its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote an open, collaborative, and inclusive vision of innovation. Attending SFSCON was a valuable opportunity to connect with an international community of experts and enthusiasts, delve into topics related to responsible digitalization, and strengthen dialogue with key players in the tech ecosystem.

Founded in 2001 by the Linux User Group Bozen-Bolzano-Bulsan (LUGBZ), SFSCON is now one of Europe’s leading events focused on Free Software. Organized by NOI Techpark, the conference welcomes over 1,000 participants each year, offering a vibrant space for learning, exchange, and community building.

Over the course of two days, SFSCON featured a rich program of talks, workshops, and networking moments, with high-level contributions on topics such as open source artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, European innovation policies, and best practices in technology. In this stimulating environment, LDV20 engaged with startups, developers, and public and private stakeholders, contributing to the ongoing conversation on scalable and sustainable development models.
